The cuisine of Bosnia & Hercegovina is characterized as rich, fresh and awfully tasty. Of course, it was influenced greatly by culinary traditions of its Balkan neighbours. It is out of the question that the locals eat a lot of dairy products and meat, particularly beef, lamb, and pork. The dish Bosnian pot is really worth trying. Meat and vegetables are roasted and then served in a ceramic pot. The dishes based on stuffed leaves, such as dolma and sarma, are eaten all over the country.
Being in Bosnia & Hercegovina, do not loose the opportunity to taste Cevapcici (lamb and beef sausages) and Burek (meat or cheese pie). Coastal regions are popular among the tourists because of fresh fish dishes. Desserts are varied, but the most famous are Baklava (pastry with nuts), Tufahije (apples, filled with walnuts and cream), and Krempita (a creamy dessert similar to cheesecake). Among the drinks Rakija is ranked as the top one. It has different fruit flavors, such as plum and grape.
